Can I connect multiple rolls for longer beds?
Yes, just overlap the ends by 2 to 3 inches and drive a spike through both layers. The join stays hidden below the soil line.
How deep should I push it into the ground?
About 2 inches deep works for most soil types. That's enough to block grass roots without leaving the top edge exposed.
Will the spikes hold in sandy or loose soil?
The 8-inch spikes bite deep enough for most soil types. In very loose sand, angle two spikes in a V-shape at problem spots for extra hold.
Can I mow right up against it?
Yes, the top edge sits flush with the grass. Just avoid catching the mower blade directly on the plastic.
- Step 1: Lay the roll along the edge you want to define. Let it warm in the sun for a few minutes so it bends easily.
- Step 2: Push the bottom edge about 2 inches into the soil along the line.
- Step 3: Drive a spike through each pre-cut slot with a rubber mallet, spacing them evenly along the roll.
