Can I put a hot pan straight from the oven on it?
It handles hot plates, mugs, and serving bowls well. For a pan straight off the burner or out of the oven, use a trivet — that's more heat than any placemat is built for.
Will the corners curl up over time?
No. At 2mm thick, it's heavy enough to lay flat on its own. If it arrives with a slight bend from packaging, leave it flat for a day and it settles.
Does it wipe clean after greasy food?
Yes. Oil sits on the surface instead of soaking in. Wipe with a damp cloth and a drop of dish soap, then dry it off.
How do I clean the edges?
Run a damp cloth along the trim and dry it right away. Don't soak it in water or put it in the dishwasher.
