Will the raw stepped hem fray after washing?
The edge is finished to hold its shape. A little softening at the very edge is normal with denim and part of the look. Wash cold and hang dry to keep it neat.
How does the hem actually hang in person?
It falls just as shown. The two tiers sit slightly apart, so the fabric moves as you walk instead of hanging stiff.
Can I hem these shorter?
