Does the gold pattern fade after washing?
No. The pattern is bonded into the surface, not printed on top. Cold gentle wash and low tumble dry keep it looking fresh wash after wash.
Will it slide around on a smooth table?
It grips lightly thanks to the embossed underside. For glass tables, a small non-slip pad underneath is a nice extra.
Does it have a strong plastic smell out of the box?
